Masaru Yamazaki

Masaru Yamazaki has held several roles in global energy business development at Sumitomo Corporation, where he led energy and infrastructure initiatives for oil and gas projects.
He has been involved in the hydrogen sector since 2015, with a particular focus on project development in Australia. In 2018, he joined the Hydrogen Council’s Finance Project Team, where he played a key role in structuring and promoting the “Japan Demand Creation Archetype Project.” He is currently serving as Project Manager for a blue hydrogen project in Victoria, Australia.
Prior to joining Sumitomo Corporation, Mr. Yamazaki worked at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, where he was engaged in syngas-based petrochemical projects—including fertilizer, methanol, DME, gas processing, and CO₂-EOR.
