Janina Franco

Senior Energy Specialist, World Bank


Janina Franco is Senior Energy Specialist at the World Bank working in more than 16 countries in the Latin America and Caribbean and Europe and Central Asia regions. Janina has more than 14 years of experience working in the preparation and implementation of diverse lending investments and technical assistance in areas such as electricity regulation, disruptive technologies to support decarbonization of the economy, green hydrogen, energy efficiency and sustainable heating, rural electrification.  She is currently the energy focal point for the Andean countries (Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador and Peru). Janina has a master’s in International Affairs and a master’s in Urban Planning from Columbia University, and has post-graduate studies on energy regulation and public private partnerships.
