Andrew Davis is Chief Strategy Officer for Toyota New Zealand. He leads strategy development, and is also responsible for Toyota sales, our store network, Lexus New Zealand and TOYOTA GAZOO Racing. As CSO, Andrew is driving the transformation of Toyota into a ‘mobility for all’ company.
For Andrew Davis, a graduate of Massey University and long-time Palmerston North resident, the location of Toyota NZ’s headquarters in the Manawatu city has been a career-defining opportunity.
Although he was born in Dunedin, Andrew has spent the bulk of his life living, learning and earning in Palmerston North. Andrew was educated at Palmerston North Boys High School before studying at Massey University with a BBS (Majoring in Property Management and Valuation) and a year towards a Bachelor of Arts studying Sociology, Psychology and Human Development graduating in 1998.
After graduating, Andrew joined Toyota NZ and has enjoyed a range of roles across the organisation in the last 20+ years. He began his career in After Sales, where he launched a new range of Service and Warranty related products, and then moved to be Toyota’s first Environmental Officer with the launch of the Prius Hybrid in 2003.
Andrew then shifted into IT as a Project Manager and subsequently IS Manager for three years. A transfer to New Vehicles saw him quickly promoted to Manager of Dealer New Vehicle Sales, Supply and Demand and, after a three-year term, a shift into marketing as Toyota’s Marketing Manager. He progressed to Corporate Manager and ultimately General Manager of Marketing (Toyota and Lexus). He added Used Vehicle Sales and Thames Signature Class refurbishment facility to his portfolio in August 2015. More recently, he was GM – Marketing and Business Technology and Vice President Lexus New Zealand.
